During the months of October and November, three students earned Piano Karate Belts. 

Ed and Maddie earned their Junior Belts signifying knowledge of counting rhythms, treble and bass clef reading, early preparatory piano literature, and performance experience. A Junior Belt is a customized color and typically awarded during the first year of piano lessons.

Margaret earned her Orange Belt signifying extensive work with elementary piano literature of varying styles, harmony, and sight playing exercises. She has developed keeping a steady tempo and various expressive techniques. She has also accomplished all of her major scales and diatonic arpeggios in the key of C.  Margaret has just completed her 2nd year of piano lessons.

Each student receives a prize of their choice (usually they like the keychain plushies!) and a macrame bracelet with a piano charm.
